What size crochet daisy does this pattern make?

This crochet daisy pattern makes a flower that’s about 3 inches across. With the stem, the flower is about 8-3/4 inches tall.

What yarn is best for making a crochet daisy?

We used worsted weight yarn (medium, size 4) in white, yellow, and green to make our crochet daisies. This is a great project for using small amounts of yarn from your stash!

To make a smaller, more delicate looking flower, use DK yarn and a 4mm crochet hook.

Do I have to add a stem to the crochet daisy?

No, you can definitely leave the stem off the flower. Simply sew the two circles completely together, instead of leaving a gap for the stem.

What can I do with a crochet daisy?

Set your daisies on the mantel in a vase, or use them as part of a bouquet. They look so cheerful!

And if you leave off the stem you can attach the daisy to a bag, throw pillow, headband, or hairclip. Or sew it to a pin backing to create a crochet brooch!

You can also attach the daisy to a wall hanging, garland, or wreath. Or decorate a homemade gift by tying the flower onto the knots of fabric gift wrap.

How long does a crochet flower last?

Crochet flowers will last for a really long time, especially if they’re set on display, instead of being handled regularly. If you use quality yarn and tie in your stitches well, this crochet daisy will last for years to come!

To keep your crochet flowers bright and beautiful in the long term, clean them with a lint roller to remove dust. You can spot clean them with a damp cloth or sponge. Keep the flowers out of direct sunlight to reduce fading.
