Melted Snowman Ornaments

Hi again! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger and I’m sharing the cutest ornament craft you’ve ever seen today. I know you will love these melted snowman ornaments as much as I do and they are so easy to make!

We just experienced our first snowfall here during the first week of November! I can’t remember the last time it snowed this early where I live. I am usually the type of person that doesn’t get into the Christmas mood until December, but the snow outside definitely made me want to start listening to Christmas songs and put a fire in the fireplace. The early snow was probably a good thing because Christmas sneaks up on my ever single year. Maybe I will be more on top of things now that it feels like the holidays outside.

We love making Christmas ornaments with our kids every year and the snow outside inspired me to make these melted snowmen ornaments. They turned out so cute and would be perfect to hang on the tree or attach to the outside of a wrapped gift. Kids will love getting involved in making these adorable melted snowmen!

  • Using a paintbrush, apply some glue onto the foam puddle, and onto a small styrofoam ball.
  • While the glue is still wet, cover the foam puddle and the styrofoam ball with iridescent glitter to resemble faux snow.
  • Once the glue has completely dried, add two button eyes to the styrofoam ball with hot glue. Cut a small triangle shape out of orange card stock and glue on the carrot nose as well.
  • Cut a tiny black hat out of felt and attach it to the foam puddle with hot glue. Add two, short twig arms, a green felt scarf and a few more buttons as well.
  • Thread a 6 inch piece of twine through the hole in the top and tie it to form loop for the ornament. Your melted snowman ornament is complete!
