How fun is it to make a candy bowl that you can actually eat?! Make these super cute edible bowls and fill them with your favourite candy. Halloween is — let’s face it — really all about the sweets, making these pumpkin cups the perfect holiday craft and snack.
Candy melt bowls are fun to make as a group, with everyone drawing their own unique jack-o-lantern face. These edible bowls are also perfect as a place setting or favour for Halloween parties.
This is such a cool treat to make for the Halloween season, and everyone will be so impressed with the idea of an edible bowl – no one needs to know that they’re REALLY EASY to make!

How many bowls can I make from one pack of melts?
One 12 ounce (or 340 gram) package of candy melts will make around 8 candy melt pumpkin bowls.
What if I don’t have a food pen?
An edible marker is the easiest way to draw a face on the sides of these jack-o-lantern bowls, but you can also use black icing. Black gel icing and black cookie icing come in squeezable tubes so you don’t even need an icing tip.
Can I make these without using a balloon?
Yes, simply fill a flexible plastic bowl with the melted wafers and allow the excess to pour back into the original bowl. Tap the sides to remove the excess coating, and put them in the freezer to set. The candy melt bowl should pop right out of the plastic bowl.
Can I make the edible candy cups in advance?
Yes, you can! You can store these jack-o-lantern bowls for up to a month if they are kept in an airtight container at room temperature. Keep in mind that they are pretty fragile, so be sure to store them out of the way so they won’t get broken.
How to Make Candy Melt Pumpkin Bowls
Materials:
- 12ouncebag of orange candy melts
- Food decorating pen(black)
Equipment:

8 Small balloons (5 inch size)
Instructions:

Pour a package of orange candy melts into a microwavable bowl.

Microwave the melts according to package directions and stir.

Blow up a balloon to be around 3 inches in diameter and tie a knot in the neck. Repeat with seven more balloons.

Once the melts have cooled for at least five minutes, dip the balloon into the coating and roll it around so the sides become covered as well. You want the bottom half of the balloon to be evenly covered.

Place the coated balloon onto a plastic plate or a baking tray lined with parchment paper.Repeat with the remaining 7 balloons, and cool them in the fridge for around 20 minutes, or until set.

Take the coated balloon out of the fridge and cut a tiny hole in the balloon close to the knot.

After slowly letting the air out of the balloon, carefully peel it away from the surface of the bowl.

Use a paring knife to gently cut around the top of the bowl to even it out.

Use an “edible marker” to draw a jack-o-lantern face on the side of the candy bowl.

Set the bowl aside and repeat with the remaining 7 bowls.

Fill the bowls with Halloween treats, and your candy melt pumpkin bowls are complete!
