Helpful Tips:

  1. If your reindeer’s nose doesn’t stick long term with the glue tape (our Rudolph’s nose fell off a couple days later!!), you can attach the pom pom with a bit of tacky glue or hot glue.
  2. Cut the antlers and ears from a craft foam sheet for a more 3D look.

What size bag are these templates for? Do I have to use the template?

The templates are made for paper bags are 5 inches wide. The antlers are roughly 3-1/4 inches tall and 1-3/4 inches wide, while the ears are 2 inches tall and 1-1/4 inches wide. If your bag is larger, scale the template up before printing.

And you definitely don’t have to use the template if you don’t want to. Feel free to make your gift bag totally unique by drawing your own antlers and ear shapes!

Do I need a white paint pen to make a reindeer gift bag?

We used a white paint pen to add details to our reindeer gift bags, but there are definitely other options if you don’t have one. Try using a white gel pen, wite-out correction fluid, or even a fine tip brush and acrylic paint.

You can also use a white colored pencil or crayon, though they probably won’t show up quite as well.
