You know when you see an idea on Pinterest, and you get really excited, and you think to yourself, “Oh! Oh! Oh! I’ve gotta try this!”? That’s how I felt about these melted peppermint candy ornaments! I have wanted to try making them for YEARS. (Seriously, aren’t they adorable!?)

You know those packs of coloured popsicle sticks that you can buy in the craft section at the dollar store? I keep buying them. And I’ll be honest. I have NO idea what crafts I’m supposed to do with them!? I’m a pretty crafty person, but those usually leave me pretty stumped. When my kids are looking for a craft, I usually give them a few coloured popsicle sticks, pass them a bottle of glue, some pipe cleaners, pom poms and googly eyes and see what they come up with. lol We get some VERY strange looking cats and a whole lot of magic wands!

So, you’ve wrapped all your gifts, right? (Ha! In a perfect universe, where you actually have 2 hours to yourself, maybe… Believe me, I get it.) But let’s say that you have wrapped them. You’ve cut perfect rectangles of wrapping paper, and you’ve carefully folded and taped the gifts closed. What did you do with all of the wrapping paper scraps? It drives me crazy when I have a 6″ wide strip of fancy wrapping paper leftover when I wrap something. Do you save it? Do you throw it away? What do you do with it?

It has been way too long since we last pulled out the sidewalk chalk! And since it’s too cold to play outside, what better way to use it than in an awesome Christmas art project!

These tea light snowman ornaments are really easy to make and they look ADORABLE! Who would have thought you could make such a cute Christmas ornament just by using dollar store tea lights?! When you turn on the tea light the “flame” becomes the snowman’s carrot nose! Talk about adorable!

Who doesn’t LOVE Christmas lights, right? Hanging them on the house might not be my favourite thing to do (or my husband’s for that matter…), but I sure love coming home when it’s dark outside and seeing our house all lit up in bright lights! Every evening, I stand outside my car for a few moments and admire them before I go into the house. It’s just so festive, it makes me smile!

I have fallen in love with this craft.  These Christmas ornament balls are so pretty, and what’s amazing is that they are actually made from CD’s!  I’m sure we all have tons of CD’s lying around the house just looking for some attention.  I highly recommend that you check out Creme de la Craft to see how these are made.  They have an awesome 90 second video tutorial that shows you exactly how to make them.  Wouldn’t you love to make some of these!?

When I was growing up, my mom made a lot of handmade Christmas ornaments and decorations. It was my favourite part of Christmas to play with all the ornaments and rearrange them on the tree.
